Ancient Chinese hand carved "magnetic jade" hybrid discoid toroid-like pendant or statue with two beasts. One looks like a familiar cicada but the other is alien-like and defies description. A large hole hand drilled in the center gives it a toroid-like component. Sticks strongly to the magnet. Stone is entirely black and is probably ironstone actually. Only two natural events have high enough energy & force to create magnetic or "meteorite jade" or ironstone. They are volcanism and meteorite impact. In premordial times there were several impacts stretching from Northwest to Northeast China which created these "meteorite jade" deposits and then were further metamorphised by subsequent volcanic processes. Ancient cultures such as Liangzhu and Hongshan discovered them and made very fine carvings such as this. Genuine original.
